Matt Sampson is Senior Director of Forest Operations for the Northeast Region with oversight of all management activities for forestland ownerships from eastern-Virginia to Maine and into eastern-Canada.

Prior to his employment with TFG in 2000, Matt served as a Forest Management Analyst for Westvaco Corporation’s Appalachian Forest Operations. In addition, he served as a Cooperative Forest Management Forester at Westvaco where he directed forest management regimes for non-industrial private landowners in western-Virginia. Earlier in his career, Matt worked as an associate forester with a leading forestry consulting firm in South Carolina.

Matt earned a B.S. in Industrial Forest Operations and an M.B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters, Association of Consulting Foresters, and board member of the Pennsylvania Forestry Association.
