Ms. Worthington directs the management of forest carbon projects on properties in The Forestland Group’s portfolio, including evaluating financial, legal, and ecological impacts of current and future projects. She collaborates with internal sustainability, valuation, forest management, impact, and transactions teams as well as external carbon project developers, contractors, registries, and California’s Air Resources Board.
Cakey holds a B.S. in Biology from Davidson College. She earned a Master of Environmental Management and a Master of Forestry (SAF accredited) from the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment. Cakey serves as a member of the Nicholas School Alumni Council.
Prior to joining TFG in 2020, Cakey was the Director of Implementation with Bluesource, a leading carbon offset developer. Her past professional experiences include work with landscape-level planning, conservation easements, mitigation banking, habitat and species preservation, timber marking and cruising, and prescribed fire management.
Cakey is a Candidate Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters, up for full candidacy in December 2021. Cakey is also a WMA certified Wilderness First Responder.
