For the first time, Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment will hold its Timberland Investments for Professionals short course outside of the US. For its prior three-year history, the course was held on Duke’s campus in Durham. Chris Zinkhan, co-lead instructor of the course, noted that “as a leading global financial center, London has a significant base of current and prospective institutional investors in real assets such as timberland which Duke would like to reach.” Furthermore, Duke has coordinated schedules with the organizers of the RISI International Forest Investment Conference during the first week of May; both events will be held at the same venue in London, but on different days. Instructors for the course will include veteran timberland investors, forestry specialists, attorneys, accountants, and ecosystem-services consultants from both the US and Europe. The target market for the course includes institutional investors, foresters, investment analysts, attorneys, accountants, consultants, and other professionals who service participants in the timberland-investment sector.
The Duke course will be held on May 2 – 3 at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel in London. For information contact Laura Lipps at firstname.lastname@example.org or view the program at https://nicholas.duke.edu/programs/execed/courses/timberland.
