New York, NY - At the American Museum of Natural History, in the Hall of Ocean Life, the Rainforest Alliance recognized companies and individuals who are leading the movement toward sustainable certification.

Corporate Sustainable Standard Setter Awards went to The Candlewood Timber Group Inc., Favorita Fruit Company, and The Forestland Group LLC.

The event, which raised close to $850,000, was co-chaired by ECOM / Atlantic (USA), Inc and Tembec. Preceding the gala was a gathering of Rainforest Alliance honorees, staff and other guests, at a workshop entitled "HOW TO MARKET SUSTAINABILITY & CERTIFICATION." Hosted by David Refkin, Director of Sustainable Development for Time Inc., the offered participants the opportunity to present their achievements in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and to discuss various approaches to communicating their message to key stakeholders. A brief press conference followed the workshop.
