Chapel Hill, NC (January 2, 2007).  The Forestland Group announced today the promotion of the following four employees: 

• Shawn Hagan to Senior Director of Forest Operations-Great Lakes
• Matt Sampson to Senior Director of Forest Operations-Northeast
• Blake Stansell to Vice President-Investments
• Linwood Thornton to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

 In his position, Shawn will continue to oversee forest management of the more than 500,000 acres managed by The Forestland Group in the Great Lakes Region.  Shawn joined the firm in 1999 as Director of Forest Operations-Great Lakes.

 Matt will continue to supervise forest management of the more than 500,000 acres managed by The Forestland Group in the Northeast Region.  Mr. Sampson started with the firm in 2000 as Director of Forest Operations-Northeast.

 In his position, Blake will manage the due-diligence and analytical efforts associated with The Forestland Group’s forestland investment activities.  Blake joined the firm in 2000 as Forestland Analyst.

 Linwood will continue to provide fund-administration and financial services leadership to The Forestland Group in his position.  Mr. Thornton started with the firm in 2001 as Director of Fund Administration.
