Chris Zinkhan, CEO of The Forestland Group, and the rest of the Management Committee are delighted to welcome Benjie Tarbutton as the firm’s new Vice President – Investor Relations. Benjie will maintain an office in Sandersville, GA.
His duties and biography are described below:
In his new position, Benjie Tarbutton will oversee business development, marketing, and investor relations activities of TFG.
Prior to his employment with TFG, Mr. Tarbutton was a co-owner and manager of Seaboard Operating Company LLC, a family-owned investment vehicle overseeing the management of significant timberlands located in central and southeast Georgia. He also was engaged in commercial real estate investing and management. From 1996-2006, Mr. Tarbutton was an attorney with the Sutherland law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked extensively on a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, with a specific focus on acquisitions and dispositions of timberlands, joint-venture formations, and acquisitions and dispositions of portfolio properties for institutional investors. He represented TFG in multiple transactions.
Mr. Tarbutton received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a JD/MBA from the University of Georgia.
Mr. Tarbutton serves on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Forestry Association, is a member of the Upper Oconee Regional Water Council, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Lottery Corporation. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and serves on the University of Georgia Law School Alumni Council.
